Membership
Membership in the Howard University Alumni Association (HUAA) is one way to maintain a lifelong connection with your Alma Mater.
Membership also allows alumni to make a small contribution that helps strengthen Howard’s position as a world premier institution of higher learning.
The Alumni Association is the only organization able to assist such a large number of campus organizations and departments all while keeping alumni and friends connected to the Mecca.
Benefits of Membership
While membership provides essential support (student recruitment and financial contribution) to Howard University, it also gives alumni various ways to stay connected, such as participation in a network of clubs and societies.
National Members also receive the following benefits:
Access to the university library system
Discounts on bookstore purchases and car rentals
Voting privileges in HUAA elections
Membership Eligibility
All graduates and honorary degree recipients of Howard University are eligible for membership. Former students who completed at least one year of studies at the university (and withdrew in good standing) are also eligible for membership.
Faculty and staff of Howard University and spouses of members are eligible to become Associate Members of the Association.
No Cost Membership
On June 7, 2020, the HUAA Alumni Council voted to suspend the collection of monies AS A REQUIREMENT FOR MEMBERSHIP in HUAA and its constituent units indefinitely.
This means that Howard alum do not have to pay dues to join HUAA or their local constituent units during that time period.
