HUACC Emergency Fund

Getting to graduation day requires a lot of support. Sometimes, that support needs to come from outside of family and friend networks. That's where the HUACC Emergency Fund steps in.

Purpose of the Emergency Fund

We organized this resource so that we can help our students overcome financial hurdles that often keep them from staying enrolled or graduating altogehter. Assistance from this fund is meant to fill small, yet still significant financial gaps. 
 

Who is Eligible to Apply?

Applicants must be current students from either Chicago or one of its surrounding suburbs. In addition to this, the other requirements the need to be met are:

  • Enrolled in and attending the semester in which funds are being requested
     
  • Must be a degree-seeking student in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25 or show evidence of recent satisfactory progress. 
     
  • Must be experiencing an unexpected financial hardship resulting from an emergency or crisis situation.
     
  • You have exhausted all other possible financial resources before applying for student emergency funds, such as student loans, Medicaid, personal financial accounts, family, and community resources.
  • Must be able to provide sufficient documentation of financial need (e.g., current student account balance etc.).

If you are experiencing financial hardship and meet the eligibility requirements, please download the application and follow the included submission instructions. While we cannot guarantee we can fulfill every request, we will honor as many as possible on a first-come, first-served basis.
